Outdoor kitchen stainless steel: A must or not?

BBQ-Buitenkeuken-De-Perfecte-Outdoor-Kookervaring

Many people search on outdoor kitchen stainless steel when they are looking for a durable outdoor kitchen. Stainless steel sounds sturdy and reliable, and in many cases it is. But is it really the best solution? Especially when you consider price, longevity and rusting? The answer is: not always.

Stainless steel rusts less quickly – but it can still rust

Stainless steel is known as a material that does not rust as easily. Yet it is a misconception that it cannot rust at all. Especially with outdoor use, where weather, dirt and damage play a role, the risk of rust does exist.

Once scratches or damage appear in the powder coating or surface of the stainless steel, rusting is imminent. This is annoying, because you are buying an outdoor kitchen for the very long term.

Outdoor kitchen stainless steel is expensive – and certainly not always better

Another important point: stainless steel is expensive. Not a little more expensive, but really hefty in price compared to other types of metal. You notice this immediately in the total price of your outdoor kitchen. And that while today there are materials that perform at least as well – or even better – in the outdoors.

What does Life-Steel do differently?

At Life-Steel, we deliberately choose a combination of smart metal types and treatments. For example, we use steel that is fully galvanized and double powder coated.

  • Full-bath galvanizing ensures that the steel is completely immersed in a bath of hot zinc. This not only protects the outside, but also the inside of each frame. This prevents rusting in the long run.

  • Double powder coating provides a strong, weather-resistant coating that lasts for years.

In addition, we use other, modern types of metal for all sheet metal. These are inherently stainless and even have self-healing properties. That means: does the coating get scratched? Then the material automatically starts protecting itself against rust.

That way, you can be sure that your outdoor kitchen will not only look good, but will actually last a long time – with no extra cost or worry.

Conclusion on stainless steel outdoor kitchens

Stainless steel can be a good solution for an outdoor kitchen, but it is a lot more expensive than other materials. In addition, you can galvanize materials such as steel, giving them a very long life. Furthermore, there are new materials that have the same properties as stainless steel but are a lot cheaper.

At Life-Steel, that’s why we choose other solutions. Materials that are cleverly treated, more resistant to outdoor conditions and often a lot cheaper. Perfect for an outdoor kitchen that needs to withstand rough handling.
